6 Winter Room Decor Ideas

It's that time of year to fill your home with cheer!
Here are my 6 simple décor ideas that will lighten up any room this season...

1. DIY Candle Holder

 Materials:
Candle holder- $1 (Dollar Tree)
Star Candle Jar-$1 (Dollar Tree)
Gems-$1 (Dollar Tree)
Plastic/Paper Snowflakes
Mini Candle- 3/$10 (Bath & Body Works)

Hot glue the candle holder to the center of the star jar.
Evenly place the gems in the jar so the candle will be stable.
Add the candle and sprinkle the snowflakes around the candle.
Light the candle and enjoy!

2.  Mini Christmas Tree

Materials:
Silver Tree-$3 (Target)
Sparkly mini ornaments-$1 (Target)
Home-made bow

3. Sparkly Lights

Material(s):
Stringed Light-N/A
I don't know where my lights are from but I just wrapped the cord with a silver and iridescent crystal garland from Crate&Barrel.

You can purchase all sorts of lights! Target is a good place to start.
There's icicle lights, regular Christmas lights, colored lights, clear globe lights, etc.
This is a link to the globe lights I think would be super cute in any room.
A more inexpensive alternative that gives off a nice Holiday glow.

4. DIY Holiday Glitter Artwork

Materials:
Canvas'-2/$3.99(Hobby Lobby)
Glitter (Wal-Mart)
Matte Mod Podge-$4.99(Hobby Lobby)
Brush
Deer template from Google

Trace the deer head onto the canvas.
Apply mod podge where you want the glitter to go.
Then liberally pour glitter onto the canvas, don't worry you won't waste it if you DON'T FORGET TO LAY SOMETHING DOWN. (Like newspaper) This way you can pour the excess glitter back into the container, no wasting allowed :)
Tap the canvas onto the newspaper so glitter that doesn't stick can fall.
Leave the canvas for at least 3 hours to dry.
Once dry take a brush and coat over your artwork with mod podge to seal in the glitter.
All done!

5. DIY Candy Cane Hearts

Materials:
Thin string
Red and white spiral pipe cleaners-$1 (Target)

Bend the pipe cleaners in half.
Take both ends and curve them inwards.
The tips should be able to touch then twist the ends together, creating a heart shape.
Repeat this with all the pipe cleaners then cut off a piece of string or fishing line the length you want it to be then add extra length about a foot and a half because it will take more string to tie it around the curtain pole and to tie the hearts together.
Then cut off any excess string for the finished look.

6. DIY Countdown to Christmas

Materials:
Glass Picture Frame
Dry erase marker
Optional: Stickers
Scrapbook paper or printed paper (Found mine on google)

I love how these simple and inexpensive décor items look in my room, they definitely have turned my room into a winter wonderland <3

Hope you liked it and Happy Holidays!

Welcome to xoxo, LA

Before I get started and post a bunch of random things, let me explain what I plan to do with this blog!

This blog will include fashion tips/ideas, room décor, DIYs, and some random posts about food because food is amazing.

oh I just LOVE Jennifer Lawrence by the way. <3

After each month I'll have monthly favorites posts so watch out for those!

I started this blog because honestly I'm bored, it's winter break so why not?

My main goal for this blog is to have fun even if there are no subscriber.
If there is even 1 subscriber to my blog, I hope to inspire them to be creative and most importantly be themselves.
Through this blog I'm not trying to make people conform to my style but rather to draw inspiration from it.
What I've done throughout the years is browse through Pinterest and Youtube to find inspiration for what I define as my style.

"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak."
-Rachel Zoe

Also, if you're wondering about my blog name, my dream is to move to the LA, the city of angels,  after graduating college.

Please share pictures if you try out any DIY's and comment if you have any questions. :)
I hope you stay tuned for my upcoming posts and I hope you enjoy!
